Import and export “bookmarks and settings” on Google chrome

In Google chrome, you can import and export bookmarks and settings from another browser or from a bookmarks HTML file.

It imports browsing history, bookmarks, search engine settings and saved passwords.

Below are the steps:

Exporting bookmarks and settings

  1. Goto Google chrome menu (Top-right side of browser window)Exports-bookmarks-google-chrome-settings
  2. Goto Bookmarks
  3. Click on “Bookmark Manager”
  4. Click on Organize drop-down menuExports-bookmarks-google-chrome-settings-2
  5. Click “Export bookmarks to HTML file…

This file can be imported in chrome to retain the bookmarks and settings

Importing bookmarks and settings

  1. Goto Google chrome menu (Top-right side of browser window)GOOGLE-chrome-import-export-bookmarks settings
  2. Goto Bookmarks
  3. Click on “Import bookmarks and settings”
  4. Select the browser from where you want to import the bookmarks and settings.

Note: In the drop-down menu, it shows only the browsers installed on your computer.

  1. You can also select Bookmarks HTML file
  2. Select what item you want to import and click “import” button
